I can see only 5.2 mp sensor instead of 8 mp in case of front camera

Is it bug or something else.

no.
use wide angle in front camera to enable full 8mp photos
it crops the image in zooned view and loses some pixels on the sensor so it shows 5.2mp

See..if you select Normal angle selfie logo then 5.2Mp as highest Resolution but if you select wide angle selfie logo then highest 8MP..And it works in same way since as width & height increases Resolution also increases...Hope it may resolve your issue..

change between the mode ! same lens does zoom in if you crop in . zoomed out picture will be 8 😉
