I am quite disappointed with my recent purchase of the Samsung S24 Ultra, as this is my initial experience with a Samsung device, and I have observed a screen-on time of only 3 hours and 25 minutes, along with excessive heat generation.

Hi 👋
Thanks for sharing your experience. I understand how disappointing it can feel, especially with your first Samsung device. A few points that may help:

Screen-on Time (SOT):

SOT varies a lot depending on usage (gaming, 5G, high brightness, Always-on display, background apps).

With balanced use, the S24 Ultra usually gives 6–8 hours SOT. If you’re seeing only ~3.5 hrs, something may be draining in the background.

Heating:

Some warmth is normal with heavy tasks like gaming, camera, or 5G.

But if it feels excessively hot during light use, it’s worth investigating.

Things you can try:

1. Run Samsung Members → Diagnostics → Battery & App power management.

2. Check Settings → Battery & Device Care → Battery → Battery usage → See if any app is consuming unusually high power.

3. Enable Battery Protection and Adaptive Battery.

4. Reduce background activity: Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → Put unused apps to sleep.

5. Keep software updated (Samsung often optimizes heating and battery in updates).

If you’ve done all this and still face only 3–4 hrs SOT with overheating, I’d recommend visiting a Samsung Service Center for a quick checkup, since your phone is new, it should be under warranty.
