Galaxy SSamsung was the first Android OEM to release the April 2021 security patch. The company has already rolled out the latest security update to a bunch of Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Now, Samsung’s flagship smartphones from 2017, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+, have started receiving the new security patch.
The South Korean smartphone giant released the April 2021 security patch to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ in South Korea earlier today. The new update for the Galaxy S8 bears firmware version G950NKSU5DUD1, while the update for the Galaxy S8+ has firmware version G955NKSU5DUD1. The new software update includes fixes from Samsung for 21 exposures and vulnerabilities and fixes from Google for 30 severe (or critical) vulnerabilities.
The updates are being rolled out for the carrier versions of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. However, we expect Samsung to release the updates for unlocked and international variants of the Galaxy S8 series.
