Galaxy STen months after its launch, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is still among the best smartphone cameras in the world. To promote the phone’s camera quality, Samsung has launched the ‘Filmed #withGalaxy’ campaign. As a part of the campaign, it has partnered with famous film directors and asked them to shoot short films using the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The company has partnered with British director Joe Wright, who is known for making films like Atonement (Golden Globe Award Winner 2008), Pride and Prejudice (2006), Darkest Hour (2017), and Woman in Window (2020). He filmed all the scenes of his short film Princess & Peppernose using the Galaxy S21 Ultra. His team used the phone’s 13mm ultrawide camera to shoot closeup and wide scenes of the movie.
Chinese director Sha Mo, known for Love Will Tear Us Apart and My Huckleberry Friends, filmed Kids of Paradise short film with the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. It features children from a small country school. He used the smartphone’s Director’s View feature
Both short films, Princess & Peppernose and Kids of Paradise, will be unveiled at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in October 2021.
Stephanie Choi, Senior VP of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications business, said, “Video is the most powerful storytelling tool and the best way to connect emotionally with the audience. With this series, we want to show people that they really don’t need fancy studio equipment or big budgets to create amazing films — all they need is a little imagination and the Galaxy device in their pocket.”
