Galaxy SSamsung's ecosystem is getting stronger.
Samsung’s device ecosystem is slowly getting its act together, and its latest TVs and Galaxy phones are more interconnected than ever. With Tizen 9, Samsung TVs can now browse a Galaxy phone’s or tablet’s storage wirelessly. Here’s how it works.
First, you’ll need a Samsung TV running Tizen 9. Samsung’s 2024 models received the update late last year, while select 2023 TVs are still waiting.
You’ll also need to meet a few other requirements:
- A Galaxy phone or tablet with Storage Share enabled in the Settings app.
- Both devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- The same Samsung account signed in on all devices.
- Your TV registered in the SmartThings mobile app.
Storage Share debuted with One UI 7.0 and is getting a few refinements in the upcoming One UI 8.5. On Galaxy phones and tablets running One UI 7.0 or later, you can enable Storage Share via Settings > Connected devices.
With these requirements met, you can follow these steps to start browsing your mobile device's storage on your TV.
- Pair your TV and Galaxy phone or tablet via Bluetooth. Scan for the TV on your mobile device, select it, and approve the connection.
- Use your TV remote to open Connected Devices from the TV's home screen.
- Select your Galaxy phone or tablet from the list.
You can now use the TV’s file manager to browse your phone’s storage. You’ll be able to view photos and videos, but documents can’t be opened or edited.
Once you’re done, you can stop sharing your mobile device's storage by disconnecting it from the Bluetooth menu.

Galaxy SMethod 1: Using "Smart View" (Quickest Way)
This is the built-in screen mirroring feature on most Samsung Galaxy phones.
Open Quick Settings: Swipe down from the very top of your phone screen using two fingers to open the full Quick Settings panel. Find Smart View: Look for the Smart View icon (it looks like a small play button inside a circle with curved lines). If you don't see it, swipe to the second page. Select Your TV: A list of available devices will appear. Tap on the name of your Samsung TV. Confirm: On your phone, tap Start Now if a pop-up appears. On your TV, a message might appear asking for permission. Use your TV remote to select Allow. Enjoy: Your phone screen should now be appearing on your TV!

Galaxy SIf you want to use your phone as a remote control as well as a mirror, the SmartThings app is the way to go.
Open SmartThings: This app is usually pre-installed on Samsung phones.
Add Device: Tap the Devices tab, then tap the "+" icon and select Add device.
Scan for TV: The app will scan for your TV. Once it finds it, select it and follow the on-screen PIN instructions (a code will pop up on your TV screen).
Mirror Screen: Once the TV is added, tap on it in the app, then tap More Options (three dots) and select Mirror screen (Smart View).
