How can I check that my phone is genuine and original product. Some of the check codes which work on other Samsung phones, are not working on my device. Any advise?

Dial *#06# on your phone. The IMEI number will appear on the screen.
* Compare this number with the IMEI number on the phone's box and any accompanying documentation.
* Visit the official Samsung website or contact Samsung customer service to verify the IMEI number.

So simple mate. Just make sure to press and hold Vol+ Vol- (both at the same time while pressing) connect to a computer.

This step is called Download Mode or ODIN MODE

After this (it should automatically pop up in the middle of screen says DOWNLOADING) a Blue screen with Detailed phone information on top of the left corner

Adding one more alternative way to the other answers:

The simplest thing that you can do is logging in to Samsung App or Galaxy App and download 1 free app from that official Samsung store, then it is a genuine product. The counterfeit ones usually links the app to a website not a real in-app store which you can download the app like Play Store.

All Samsung Android phones and tablets have the embedded diagnostic tool that can be invoked by dialing *#0*#. If you can open that diagnostic tool, it must be the real/genuine Samsung device.
