Hi, my phone was running well after the February security patch but now it got worse just after updating to March's security patch.

My phone is heating up on idle and losing so much power. I don't have any new apps installed. Any idea?

It's possible that the March security patch introduced some issues that are causing your phone to behave differently. Sometimes, software updates can inadvertently cause issues like increased battery drain and overheating. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Restart Your Phone: Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve temporary software glitches.

2. Check for Rogue Apps: Even though you haven't installed any new apps, it's possible that an existing app may be misbehaving or causing the issue. Check your battery usage stats to see if any particular app is consuming an unusually high amount of power.

3. Clear Cache Partition: Clearing the cache partition on your device can sometimes help improve performance after a software update. This won't delete any personal data, but it can clear out temporary files that may be causing issues.

4. Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on your phone. This will erase all data and settings, so make sure to back up your important data before proceeding. After the reset, set up your phone as new and see if the issue persists.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, you may need to wait for a subsequent software update from your device manufacturer to address the issue. You can also reach out to their customer support for further assistance.

Been experiencing some issues after the march update on my S23 as well. On video calls, the phone heats up a lot and battery drains a lot as well, only on video calls though. I've also noticed the media player in the notification panel gltiching up, not showing the song progress and not showing the correct media as well. Weirdly enough, it feels that my screen brightness does not get as bright in direct sunlight (happens sometimes, not all the time)

Yes, video call heats up the phone and my phone drains battery 1% every 3 mins, but i think its a bit normal because of software not fully optimized yet. I've been having that since i bought the phone.
Do try to clear cache partitioning, i just did it, maybe it will help a little with the heat and random glitches
