It's available in the UAE. My colleague updated today. But SM-G990U is a USA carrier branded model. So I'm not sure if you will ever receive any update.

If it's an U1 model, you will get updates regardless of where you are. If the model is U, you have to connect to the carrier network (even if it is unlocked). I have seen people unlock and flash U1 firmware. Check XDA forums, you will find details on that.

But as a first step, connect to a USA VPN and check for updates. In some cases that works (depends on the carrier).

I am in Dubai, and my phone is unlocked from Boost carrier however I am using Du SIM card network. I will check with VPN USA network connection.

The updates are sent out in random phases/batches. Only a few people will be included in a particular batch. You will very soon receive the update on your phone.

The software updates are released in batches by Samsung using the FOTA technology. You will receive the notification as soon as the update is available for the device. I know the wait can be rough! We don't have a timeline to share, unfortunately, but I'm glad to read that you know the right place to stay up to date! Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before you get the update.

I believe this is from Samsung support. If you are already receiving monthly security updates, you are good. Recently someone posted here, who is still stuck with Android 12/One UI 4.

Yes, correct. I contacted Samsung US support via WhatsApp. My last update was 1st November 2023. I hope that after Android 14 UI6.0, my device will work with 5G network compatibility with Du and India Jio 5G network. Currently, the device is not working with 5G network compatibility. 5G network mode was working properly for Boost Mobile USA, where I experienced 200Mbps to 800Mbps internet download speed.
