Samsung’s One UI 7 update has faced an unusually long testing period, significantly delaying its rollout compared to previous versions. Typically, Samsung releases its latest Android-based One UI updates between September and October for its flagship devices, with a more refined version launching alongside new Galaxy S series models. However, this time, the Android 15-based One UI 7 update has been delayed by several months, pushing the upgrade schedule far beyond the usual timeframe.
According to a leaked roadmap, One UI 7 will finally be available for older Samsung Galaxy devices, but users will have to wait much longer than expected. The rollout is set to begin on April 18, 2025, starting with the latest (year old) flagship models, including the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. More older flagship models, such as the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Fold5, will follow later in April. Mid-range devices like the Galaxy A54 and A34 are scheduled to receive the update in late April and mid-May, while older premium models, including the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy Z Fold3, will have to wait until May 23, 2025.
This extended delay marks a significant shift from Samsung’s previous update cycle, which typically delivered the latest One UI version within a few months of the new Android release. While the delay may be frustrating for users, it is expected that Samsung is taking additional time to refine One UI 7, ensuring a more polished and stable experience when the update finally arrives.
