Help!My S24 Ultra (and many others) lost fast/super-fast charging after the One UI 8 (Android 16) update. It slows to a crawl even with the original Samsung charger and cable. Forum users report the same: brief "fast charging" flash, then stuck on slow mode. I NEED this fixed NOW! @Samsung
I tried EVERY standard fix—nothing works. Still slow charging!
1. Safe Mode Test (Ruled Out Apps)
Power + Vol Down > Hold "Power off" > "Safe mode."
"Safe mode" shows bottom-left.
Plugged in original charger/5A cable—NO fast charging.
Restarted to exit.
2. Wiped Cache Partition (No Data Lost)
Phone off > USB-C to PC.
Vol Up + Power > Recovery menu.
"Wipe cache partition" > "Yes" > "Reboot."
Still broken!
3. Verified Settings
Settings > Battery > Charging: Fast/Super fast ON.
Plugged in (screen on)—NO "Super fast charging" notification.
Mine has been the same for last 2 weeks or so. Since updated phone. S24 S25 Fold7. All 3 phones have same issue since last phone update. Now takes 8 hours to charge. Samsung had me take phone to get tested and phone is all good.
Frontline Samsung support: 1. Can only test hardware 2. Has no visibility into kernel or charging stack bugs 3. Will keep saying “device OK” because technically it is.
Samsung must release a hotfix to One UI 8.x patch for charging stability and rollback of the broken PD/PPS module
Issue of phone heating easy if you charge it and be on a call it overheat after UI8, if you connect wireless android auto and be on a call overheat again, mostly on ms teams
