My fingerprint scanner on this phone one day started not working well. It would consistently give error outputs while scanning it. And when it does scan it, it does so for longer than usual. Very rarely will it actually work properly. The first thing I decided to do was to rescan my fingerprints again but when I tried to, it would say "Press a little longer" for a while until this pops up.

This error pops up after a while when registering my fingerprint

Is the fingerprint sensor broken? Or is it a software thing. This phone still uses the built in Samsung glass screen protector that came in the box.

Hi Fabz, onscreen fingerprint scanner need a little pressure to be applied to the screen to read your finger properly(unlike the capacitive readers that we see on the back of devices)
Try to register your finger by pressing a little harder.
Hope it will help.
