Those of you who have enabled developer options in S22 Ultra, can you confirm if you are able to change the default Bluetooth codec:

The items in the list above aren't greyed out, but I'm unable to change the codec either. Are you able to change them on your device?

SOLVED

To anyone facing this problem, the solution is to power off your Watch 4. You'll then be able to connect to devices that were not showing up earlier as well as change the codecs.

My tv supports aac and sbc and not others so they are greyed-out (look at the circle)

Now aptx got broken after oneui 4 update on numerous models i think

Any idea why we are unable to change? One of my earphones isn't showing up in the devices list, and I know it uses aptX. Thought of changing this setting to see if it helps, but unable to change.

There are 4-5 different aptx20220216_141004_8531_1645000807.jpg

Any idea why I'm unable to select a different codec? I see many of these options on my other phone, but there they have all been greyed out. Here the options aren't greyed out, but I'm unable to select them.

Unselectable means greyed-out,
However which it will only work with which codec is supported by the other Bluetooth device,

Then it is a UI glitch. It isn't actually greyed out visually as you can see in the picture.

One of my earphones isn't showing up in the devices list, any ideas? Other devices show up in my phone, and this earphone shows up in other devices without problem.

I found out the problem. My phone was connected to the Watch 4 and that's why I was unable to change the codec. And for some reason, that was also the reason why this particular earphone was not showing up in the devices list.

I powered off my watch and then tried pairing the earphone. And it showed up and connected instantly. Even the Bluetooth codecs can now be changed. Check this out:
