I have a Note8 and has seen this before you had even heard about S9. You better learn something about video compression and colour depth and about displays in general before continuing this pointless argument. Peace out.

Set your screen mode to Basic and turn off Video enhancer, it might partially solve your "issue". But I suggest that you try downloading and playing some good quality content first, like this one: 4kmedia.org/samsung-chasing-light-4k-demo/
PS: Don't play it on Youtube, download it first.

Have you tried downloading and playing the video I suggested? See if the "issue" persists in that.

Hello All,

I am also having the same issue.
and i also know how to reproduce this issue.

1. Start fresh with a reboot.
2. Now check that there is no black crush when you play HEVC 10bit video.
3. Start the camera and close the camera app in photo mode only. If video mode is selected while closing then the issue will not be replicated.
4. Now again play the HEVC 10 bit video.

Now you can see the black crush in video.

And once started you have to restart the phone to fix.
And it will NOT be fixed by opening the camera app and close it in video mode.

Requesting Samsung to fix the issue.

Thanks
