S7e nougat USB OTG notification missing

I used to get a persistent notification when I used to connect my pendrive via otg like shown in picture attached but now I don't. I don't recall whether it was on Marshmallow back then or on Nougat only. It was good for quickly opening the files in it and unmounting. Now I have to go through settings to do so. Anyone else facing the issue? Help me resolve it.
