Hi Jps001.
Good question — you’re not alone. Several users of Samsung S25 Ultra report that their phones remain stuck at the “Google Play system update — 1 July 2025” status. Here’s what is known — and what might help.

What is happening — and what people suspect

The “Google Play system update” (GPSU) is separate from the regular Samsung firmware/Android OS updates. It updates core Google/Android components (Play Services, Play Store, SecurityCore, etc.) over-the-air, independent of full OS releases.

For some Galaxy models — including S25 Ultra — users say that even though the phone shows the latest Samsung firmware (e.g. “October” or recent security patch), the GPSU remains stuck on July 2025.

On community forums, some S25 Ultra users speculate the issue started after a factory reset or after uninstalling/clearing cache of Google apps.

Others describe trying the official “check for update” via Settings ➝ Security & Privacy ➝ System & updates ➝ Google Play system update — but no newer GPSU appears.

In some cases with other Galaxy phones, older GPSU date remains even after “manual update,” and further updates never arrive — suggesting a rollout issue rather than a device-specific bug.

So as of now: it doesn’t seem to be a hardware defect with S25 Ultra, but rather an issue with GPSU delivery or rollout — something affecting multiple users.

🔧 What you (or others) can try to possibly fix or trigger the update

If you wish to attempt the usual “fixes,” these steps have helped people in other GPSU-stuck situations. (Note: no guarantee — but worth trying.)

Clear cache and data of Google Play Store + Google Play Services, then reboot, and check for GPSU.

Remove and re-add your Google account (some reports say this can “refresh” update eligibility) — after ensuring date/time and internet connection are correct.

Make sure your phone has sufficient free storage (at least 1 GB) and a stable internet connection (WiFi or mobile data).

Wait: in some devices, GPSU updates come in batches — after a firmware update or reset, it may take several weeks or a couple of months for GPSU to “catch up.”
