Galaxy S
Does anyone know how to fix my phone heating up during mundane tasks. It also heats up stupidly when playing videos games that my A54 was handling well. Same settings and all. I do not get it!

Seems like a common issue with the FE variants. I used the S20FE which I understand had an Exynos chip and those have poor thermal management, resulting in overheating and performance throttling. I don't know what specs the recent ones have and I'm so not interested 😂

Hi
That sounds frustrating — especially since your A54 could handle the same games without heating as badly. A Galaxy S25 heating up during normal tasks and games usually points to either software optimization, background activity, or a hardware/thermal management issue. Here are some steps you can try to narrow it down and possibly fix it:
---
🔎 Check & Fix Possible Causes
1. Software Updates
Make sure your S25 is fully updated. Early firmware on new models often has thermal/performance issues that get patched.
2. Background Apps
Go to Settings → Battery and Device Care → Battery → Background Usage Limits.
Restrict unnecessary apps from running in the background.
3. Gaming Settings
In Game Booster / Game Launcher, ensure performance is balanced rather than maxed out.
Enable “Game Optimization Service (GOS)” if it’s disabled — this prevents overheating by controlling CPU/GPU load.
4. Screen & Brightness
High refresh rate + max brightness + mobile data can generate a lot of heat. Try reducing refresh rate to 60/90Hz when not needed.
5. Check for Rogue Apps
In Battery usage, see if any app is consuming way more than expected during mundane tasks.
6. Thermal Management Reset
Clear cache partition (turn off phone → hold Power + Volume Up until recovery menu → select Wipe cache partition → reboot).
This often fixes strange heating and lag issues after updates.
7. Hardware/Case Factor
If you’re using a thick case, it might trap heat. Try without it.
Wireless charging pads and fast charging also heat up phones — check if it persists even without charging.
---
⚠️ When to Suspect Hardware
If your S25 gets abnormally hot even while idle (e.g., browsing or standby), the issue could be:
A defective battery,
A poorly seated thermal paste/pad inside,
Or a manufacturing fault.
In that case, a Samsung service check is the best route, especially since it’s a new device and under warranty.

Hi. I wiped my cache partition and then honestly waited. It eventually got better. In about a month tho 💀 go to a store and tell them about the issue. They will assess it and maybe return it. My store told me to wait till the phones learns me. So just go, so that they are aware of you
