Hi 👋
Sorry you’re experiencing this after the January update. A few things usually help improve S24 Ultra camera quality after major updates 👇

1️⃣ Clear Camera app cache (very important)

Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear cache
(Don’t clear data)

2️⃣ Reset Camera settings

Open Camera > Settings > Reset settings
Updates can sometimes mess with processing profiles.

3️⃣ Turn off excessive AI processing (temporarily)

Camera Settings > Intelligent optimization Try setting it to Medium instead of Maximum
This often fixes over-sharpening and noise issues.

4️⃣ Check lens & shooting mode

Switch between 12MP / 50MP / 200MP and compare results Avoid Scene Optimizer in tricky lighting to see natural output

5️⃣ Restart the phone
Simple, but it helps recalibrate camera services after updates.

6️⃣ Wait for the next patch
Samsung usually releases camera hotfixes after feedback from updates like this. Many users report improvements with follow-up updates.

If possible, please report it via Samsung Members > Error reports with sample photos—this really helps push a fix faster 👍

Hope this improves things soon 😊

Thank you for your message.

We understand that you are experiencing poor camera quality on your device after the January software update. We apologize for the inconvenience and the impact this has on your experience.

To help address this issue, please try the following steps:

  1. Check for Software Updates
Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to make sure your device has the latest available updates, including potential fixes after the January update.
  2. Clear Camera App Cache
Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage, then tap Clear cache only, and restart the device.
  3. Reset Camera Settings
Open the Camera app, go to Settings, and select Reset settings.
  4. Check Image Quality Settings
In the Camera app, ensure the image resolution and quality options (e.g., High efficiency / Highest resolution) are selected according to your preference.
  5. Test in Good Lighting
To confirm whether the issue is environmental, try capturing photos in well-lit locations and compare results.
  6. Safe Mode Test
Restart the device in Safe Mode to determine if any third-party application is affecting camera performance.

If the issue persists after applying the above steps, please submit an error report through the Samsung Members app with sample photos showing the poor quality. This helps our technical team analyze the behavior and determine if it is related to the recent update.
