Galaxy SThank you for reaching out to us. We understand that after updating to One UI 8, you're experiencing an issue where the keyboard scrolls down as if the back button is being pressed while typing. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
To resolve this issue, please try the following steps:
- Restart Your Device: A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches.
Clear Cache and Data of Keyboard:
Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Keyboard.
Tap Storage and then Clear Cache. If the issue persists, try Clear Data (this will reset the keyboard settings). - Check for Software Updates: Ensure your device is fully updated by going to Settings > Software Update. If a new update is available, install it as it might fix this issue.
- Test in Safe Mode: To rule out third-party apps causing the issue, restart your device in Safe Mode. Press and hold the power button, then tap and hold Power off until Safe Mode appears. Check if the problem occurs in this mode.
- Reset Keyboard Settings:
Go to Settings > General Management > Language and Input > On-Screen Keyboard > Samsung Keyboard.
Tap Reset to Default Settings and see if the issue is resolved. - Try a Different Keyboard: As a temporary workaround, you can download a third-party keyboard (like Gboard) from the Google Play Store and check if the issue persists.
If the issue continues despite these steps, please let us know. We’d be happy to assist you further or guide you to a Samsung Authorized Service Center.

Galaxy SThank you for your reply and for trying the troubleshooting steps we suggested. We understand that the issue persists despite following the recommended actions, and we sincerely apologize for the continued inconvenience.
As it seems this issue is related to the Samsung Keyboard app after the One UI 8 update, we recommend trying the following additional steps:
- Check for Samsung Keyboard App Updates:
Ensure the Samsung Keyboard app is updated to the latest version by visiting the Google Play Store or Samsung Galaxy Store. Sometimes app updates can fix bugs that affect functionality. - Reinstall Samsung Keyboard:
If the issue still persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung Keyboard app to ensure it's functioning correctly. - Factory Reset:
If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, we recommend performing a Factory Reset as a last resort. Please ensure to back up your data before proceeding. To perform a factory reset, go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory Data Reset.
If the problem continues despite trying these steps, we recommend visiting a Samsung Authorized Service Center for further assistance. You can locate the nearest service center here:

We appreciate your patience and look forward to resolving this for you. Please feel free to contact us if you need further support.
