Coming from Z Fold4 and S21 Ultra, there is definitely something off with the way the display is handling colors. Significantly less punch and sharpness, can be called unattractive or muted. The screen mode is Vivid but in real not the kind of Vivid Samsung has mastered over years. Even my S9+ looks better, let alone S21 Ultra. I am not from engineering or tech background but the gamma or tones are really looking bad. Also, the photo and videos in general are not as crisp/sharp with at times a little bit of haze or blur being felt.

I have compared different S23 Ultra hansets side by side, so it's not a defect and it's the way how it is now. Even if Samsung is doing away with vividness and applying more natural tones, the result is less satisfying, atleast for now.

Fix it please, Samsung. This is a highly expensive phone and screen is taking away the overall premium experience. Thank you.

OK. Ur answer seems correct. It can be the effect of new ambient condition display. Tbh I hate this display colors bcoz my s8+ is much more sharp and vivid. It is set on Amoled Display.

Vivid mode in S23Ultra looks a lot like Amoled Cinema which I don't like at all as red isn't pure as tomato red. It is more of Dull Pinkish+Brown color = Maroon.

Agreed.   Samsung please fix it.   The colors stick on my s23 ultra.   I'm gonna have to return it and go back to my s22 ultra.... way better

This is driving me crazy i dont like how it looks. I have my s21 ultra next to my s23 ultra and iv gotten use the the color punch and sharpness of the 21 display. the vivid option should deliver then color punch that we have gotten use to with a samsung display. Havnt even seen any youtube discussions or if samsung has said anything about it. hopefully they give us choice through an update

I am hopeful too, but no signs of much improvement even after recent software update. And you are right, no reviewer by far I know has technically analyzed this important flaw/change in the display calibration.

Same experience here, coming from Note 10+ and the screen of S23 Ultra looks really outdated.

Samsung should comment here if they are doing anything to fix it?

I agree, I thought it was just in my head at first. Honestly, sometimes it looks fine then it all of a sudden looks dull. It's really annoying. This phone is so new, there shouldn't be any issues.

I just got my S23U today and the first thing I noticed was the screen colors

Hope Samsung do something about it 😔

I agree with you. Screen looks very pale. Even blacks are not blacks, orange, blue all colours are not showing as true colours. IPhone display looks far better.

And compared to S21 going back upto S3 , I used all devices and I see S23 Ultra display is disappointing 😞

I tried the option,

1.Unchecked Eye comfort Shield

2.In Vivid screen mode. Set the slider to middle for brightness. Screenshot_20230228_095640_Settings.jpg
