Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand your concerns regarding the delay in software updates and the performance of the fingerprint sensor on your Galaxy S22 Ultra. We aim to provide a smooth user experience and would like to suggest the following steps to optimize your device:

  • Fingerprint Sensor Optimization: If the sensor is not responding accurately, please try removing your existing fingerprints and re-registering them. We recommend registering the same finger twice from different angles to improve recognition speed. Also, ensure your screen protector is compatible with ultrasonic sensors and that the "Touch Sensitivity" option is enabled under (Settings > Display).
  • Software Update Schedule: Software updates are released in phases and may vary depending on the region and carrier. You can manually check for the latest available firmware by going to (Settings > Software Update > Download and Install). Ensuring your device is on the latest version often resolves sensor performance issues.
  • System Performance: If you feel the device is experiencing delays, clearing the system cache can help. You can also use the "Device Care" feature under Settings to optimize memory and close unnecessary background applications.
  • Diagnostic Test: We recommend using the Samsung Members app to run a diagnostic test on the Fingerprint recognition sensor (Support > Phone diagnostics > Fingerprint recognition) to ensure the hardware is functioning correctly.

For more information on update features or to find a service center if the sensor issue persists, please visit our support page: https://www.samsung.com/ae/support/

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for clarifying the behavior you are experiencing with the fingerprint sensor on your Galaxy S22 Ultra.

We understand your concern, especially as the fingerprint sensor works normally without a screen protector and the issue appears after applying one. Please note that the Galaxy S22 Ultra uses an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which requires a screen protector that is fully compatible with this technology. Some third-party screen protectors, even if they work well on other brands or optical sensors, may affect fingerprint recognition on Samsung devices.

To help improve performance, please ensure the following:

  • Use a screen protector specifically labeled as compatible with Samsung ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.
  • After applying the screen protector, delete all registered fingerprints and re-register them with Touch sensitivity enabled.
  • Register the same finger more than once and press slightly firmer during registration.

If the issue persists even after using a compatible screen protector and re-registering fingerprints, we recommend visiting the nearest authorized Samsung service center so our technicians can inspect the device and confirm whether calibration or further support is required.

Thank you for your reply and for clarifying the situation.

Please note that Samsung Stores may not always have ultrasonic-compatible screen protectors available for all models, including the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Availability can vary by location and stock.

What’s important is that the screen protector you use is clearly labeled as compatible with Samsung ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. These are usually available through authorized retailers or service channels, even if they are not branded or sold directly inside a Samsung Store.

If you are unable to find a compatible protector and the fingerprint sensor continues to work only without one, we recommend visiting the nearest Samsung Authorized Service Center. Our technicians can:

  1. Inspect the fingerprint sensor performance
  2. Confirm whether the behavior is within normal range
  3. Provide guidance on compatible accessories or further support if required

You can locate the nearest authorized service center using the link below:

We appreciate your feedback and understanding, and thank you for being part of the Samsung Community.
