Could it be that people making less money are whining?
I mean, if someone is earning 1.5-2L a month, spending a L on a phone is not a big deal I think.
But what grinds my gears is that, what makes S22 Ultra double the cost of S22 plus?
If it's a fold, it makes sense.

1) The wasteful electronic purchase and usage is affecting the environment. So, even if someone is shít rich, buying and dumping electronics too frequently is not his/her own problem anymore, especially in a country like India where the recycling and waste disposal systems are just in developing state.

2)I already mentioned that super rich people can buy it. My take is that middle class and poor people shouldn't do that. Because these days anyone with a monthly income of around 25k can buy a 1 lakhs worth phone with different types of emis. But that's a poor economic choice.

3)yes, s22 ultra is overpriced.

But, nothing goes for waste in India.
In the end everything will trickle down to the poor.
That's why Jelly bean is still in use.

I also tried not to upgrade from S20Plus. Thought of using it for 4 years. But Display issues made me upgrade.
Even though Samsung gave new display, I couldn't trust it.
And now I'm afraid everytime I get a new update on S22Plus.

Yeah in that sort of situations, upgrade is the viable option. You went for exchange?

Yeah exchanged on Samsung shop app.
After a month they reduced the price to my exchange price.
Only good thing about my phone is it's made in Korea.

Exchanging is always good if you are financially sound because the old phone will get properly recycled or sold again as renewed.
