Hi people, I bought a S22 Ultra from US, (yet to receive it) it is unlocked as the seller indicated. Now I was reading on the net that American phones have a tendency to not function well when outside the US. That 5G will not work and eSIM too. I'm worried 😟 bcoz i need the eSIM, i don't mind about 5G bcoz 4G meets my browsing needs. I'm in Zambia.
Anyone who has used US phones?

Don't worry, it'll work just fine. No need to get worked up about it. Esim doesn't behave like that

Thanks, a few people have assured me that it will work.
I was thinking that if it doesn't work, then I will put another country's firmware. Only to read that , American phones just want American firmware and I will lose on getting OTA updates. Sivintu!

Not even that, man. It's an unlocked version. If it trips. Use any firmware you want. That won't be an issue. Also esim works just great. Keep me updated

I want to update you that my phone (S22 Ultra) arrived from the states, it is T-Mobile unlocked and is working flawlessly. 5G is working, eSIM is working and even found a software update for 1st February security patch

Hi there unclocked devices that bought outside of your country do not have problems work very well with your carrier network. When it comes to Esim your country is not ready for esim feature

Actually both MTN and Airtel have eSIM service. I intend to put Airtel on eSIM
