I recently updated my Galaxy S22 Ultra to One UI 8 based on Android 16. After updating, I suddenly noticed that out of nowhere, a bright white bar, similar to a dead pixel burn, started appearing on the top left of the display, just beside the front camera. There were horizontal lines on the display and faded and distorted colors from left to right. Initially, I thought this was a hardware issue as my S22 Ultra is 3.5 years old. But there's a catch.

When I switched the display from Adaptive (120 Hz) to Standard (60 Hz), the issue partially resolved as the bright white bar disappeared along with the horizontal lines, but there was still a hint of a faded bar on top and faded and distorted colors on the display.

When I switched back again to 120 Hz, the same bright white bar started appearing again. Now, I didn't purchase this expensive flagship to use it at a choppy 60 Hz refresh rate. My phone's display was running perfectly fine before the One UI 8 Update.

Samsung! I am voicing my concern loudly here. I need a permanent fix for this issue. I didn't pay such a hefty amount just to face such pathetic software glitches.

Waiting for a reply and action on this matter.

Unfortunately nothing will happen. They won't accept it as their liability and will push you for paid repair. This brand should be banned.

What's the Plan of Action then? Did you face the same issue?

I faced this issue on my M52 and wasn't provided a replacement as it wasn't a flagship. Now I am constantly in fear for my S23. You better order a good quality amoled panel from phoner.in or maxbhi.com. Trust me their display is of good quality. Recently my F62 got lines and I orderd from phoner.in and had it installed.

Or you can replace through samsung by paying but around 23k for replacing from samsung original isn't worth it given the age of your device better go for 3rd party as I mentioned.

Painful to see as we (consumers) are suffering alot from this after we paid plenty of cash... Samsung gotta have to improve their services along with the ongoing activities.. They gotta listen to our feedback more often

Yes man. Paying over a lakh and getting harassed by these so called service centre technicians is not at all worth it. As if they are trying to reject all the repairs anyhow possible.
