Galaxy SI talked to customer service and sent a mail to samsung head office stating that the issue was caused due to Software update and not physical damage.
After investigation of almost 4 days, they finally agreed to replace my display for labour charges only i.e. ₹502.
Kudos to Samsung for their support.
