I use SMS organizer app by Microsoft. Belive me you won't shift to any messaging app later. However, I must tell you RCS feature is yet to come in this app.

SMS Organiser from Microsoft is the best SMS app. Neither google nor samsung could come near due to category features, backup, reminders, OTP identification in more usable way etc...

It is always better to choose system default services. Rest is upon you which one you like. Every app has its own merit and demerit.
