S21+ battery issues - Messages app takes most battery

Hi,

Currently facing battery issues...it's running out soon..only 12 hours of usage..Any idea on how to restrict the messages app.

It's consuming the most battery.

Please help

uninstall this message app by Google and use the native one

Yes beacouse native messaging app is optimised for your device and Message by Google is for Google Pixel series.

Thanks all ... for now....I have disabled the Google message app...can't uninstall it..will keep you posted usage details

Is 4 and a half hours of screen on time all you get on your s21?

 I have that with 52% battery left.
