Man Rigs Samsung Galaxy S10+ With a 14000mAh Battery, Hereโ€™s What Happened Next

image

You know how we always keep asking Samsung (and pretty much every other smartphone maker) to put bigger batteries on smartphones? Well, it seems someone did something about it. But it isnโ€™t Samsung. A Reddit user, who goes by the username T-VIRUS 691, posted images showing a 14000 mAh battery attached to a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. How? He simply added a 10000 mAh battery on top of the 4100 mAh unit that comes out of the box on the Galaxy S10 Plus. The results arenโ€™t particularly pretty, but the user claims itโ€™s working fineโ€ฆmore than fine.

The user claimed that the phone was running at high performance levels, its AMOLED screens are working fine, as is the headphone jack. The SD card slot on the phone is doing fine too, while the Edge screen responds fine as well. The man even says that he can get โ€œtrue all day battery lifeโ€ and is able to charge his wifeโ€™s Galaxy S10 5G without leaving himself without power. It seems only the NFC isnโ€™t working, which is because of circuity issues.

He also posted a battery graph, which suggests over 10 hours of battery life on a full charge. โ€œThe first half of the graph was with the original battery (draining it to match the same voltage of the 10,000mah cell i added) and the second half of the graph is heavy usage with the 14,000mah total capacity (continuous tethering, youtube, max screen brightness.etc) to drain the battery as fast as possible in order to calibrate the battery meter,โ€ the person said along with his photo. The full photo is available here, but we have attached a screenshot below.

Well, this might be the only way to get such a huge battery on a flagship device. Bigger batteries take more space, and cost much more for the company, which means theyโ€™re unlikely to make a big battery a flagship feature. At the moment, most flagship phones give you 7-10 hours of continuous battery life, which is enough for a work day, but doesnโ€™t really mean 24 hour battery life.

To be fair, it doesnโ€™t seem like this manโ€™s 14000 mAh battery lasted all day either, but at least he claims it was much better. One wonders how heโ€™ll pass this through airport security though.

After reading your story of 14000 mah on a flagship phone and watching it run only for 1 single day. Well on a m51 we get this usage of a single day ๐Ÿ™„. If one would get only a single day run on a phone then buying a A series or a M series which has a 4000 to 7000 under battery is worth it. Rather than going for such flagship phones. Well after all what is done is done, I am happy that I did not buy that phone and bought m51. ๐Ÿ™ƒScreenshot_20210609-112315_Device care_20696.jpg

Flagship isn't about battery only. It has many more features.

And as he claims 14000mAh doesn't feel like actual 14000mAh Battery.

As this pictures reads 4100 mah for s10+ I don't see anywhere 14000 mah. Well I don't think there is any well just reading world first smartphone was launched with a massive battery of 16000 mah. 20210609_135805_20830.jpg20210609_135442_20829.jpg

Under search bar of setting. I found this find my mobile. As shown I have switched it off. Also after closing accidental touch and remove animation. I am seeing a large difference in the consumption of no battery being used. Since past 4 hrs. It was 53 and it still 53. I am happy ๐Ÿ˜ŠScreenshot_20210609-193619_Device care_20854.jpgScreenshot_20210609-193641_Device care_20855.jpg
