Galaxy S
Hi everyone,
Can anyone please help. I am a samsung S 24 ultra user and since updating to One UI8.0 i have been facing severe connectivity issue. The network goes off and comes back automatically. Call connection is poor, the call drops every now and then and mobile data connectivity is horrendous too.

That’s not normal behavior for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra after a One UI update. What you’re describing—signal dropping, unstable calls, poor data—usually points to a modem/radio configuration issue rather than pure hardware failure, especially right after One UI 8.0.
Work through this systematically:
1. Reset network stack (most effective first step)
Updates often corrupt carrier configs.
Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset network settings This will remove Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network configs Reconnect and test again 2. Toggle network mode manually
Sometimes the phone struggles switching between bands.
Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Network mode Try: 5G/LTE/3G (auto) → if unstable, switch to LTE/3G/2G Test calls and data for a while 3. Reinsert SIM / test SIM Remove SIM, clean it, reinsert If possible, try another SIM card
👉 If another SIM works fine → your carrier/SIM is the issue
👉 If both have problems → likely software/config issue
4. Reset APN (important for data issues) Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names Tap Reset to default 5. Clear system cache (post-update fix)
This helps after major updates:
Power off phone Hold Volume Up + Power Enter recovery → select Wipe cache partition Reboot 6. Check for patch updates
Samsung often releases quick fixes after big updates:
Settings → Software Update → Download & install 7. Test in Safe Mode
Rules out app interference:
Hold Power → long press Power Off → Safe Mode If signal stabilizes → a third-party app is interfering 8. Last resort (if issue started exactly after update) Backup your data Perform Factory Reset When to suspect something serious Signal drops even in strong coverage areas Phone shows “No service” intermittently Happens across different SIMs
👉 Then it could be:
Baseband/modem firmware bug (common after updates) Rare hardware issue (antenna/modem IC) Practical advice
Given your symptoms and timing:
This is very likely a software/modem bug in One UI 8.0 If many users report it, Samsung usually fixes it in a patch update within weeks
If you tell me:
Your country/carrier Whether it happens on 5G only or all networks
I can narrow it down further and suggest a more targeted fix.
