I am using an S23 Ultra now. Before, I was using an A51. Now, my saved files are turning half black or grey. Earlier, the same problem happened with the A51 as well. Is this some kind of virus issue, or is it a software or hardware problem? I already did a full scan, and the result showed no virus. Can you tell me how to solve this? Many of my photos and files got corrupted like this.

It doesn’t look like a virus issue, so you don’t need to worry about that. From what you described, the problem is most likely related to file corruption or storage issues, not a hardware fault with your phone.

When photos or documents appear half black, grey, or unreadable, it usually means:

The files were corrupted during saving, transferring, or backup.

If you moved them from your old A51, the corruption might have happened at that time.

Sometimes, using a faulty SD card, unstable USB transfer, or cloud sync errors can cause this.

Things you can try:

1. Check if the original files are still intact in Google Photos / OneDrive / Samsung Cloud – sometimes the backup version is fine.

2. If you copied them from an SD card, try accessing that SD card again on a computer – it may have errors.

3. Run the Device Care → Storage → Diagnostics in the Samsung Members app to check for storage issues.

4. Avoid moving files between devices using unreliable apps or low-quality cables – always use Smart Switch or a proper data cable.

5. For the already corrupted files, unfortunately, full recovery may not always be possible – but you can try using recovery apps or PC recovery tools.

️ For the future, to prevent this:

Always use reliable storage (internal memory or trusted SD cards).

Regularly backup to Google Drive, Samsung Cloud, or an external hard disk.

Use Smart Switch for safe transfers between devices.

So, it’s not a virus or major hardware issue – it’s a file corruption/storage problem. With proper backup and careful transfer, you can avoid this in future.
