Hi guys I forgot to take out the charger last night for the new s25+ and it was on the charger for a couple of hours. Will this affect the battery? Or the new technology has a way to prevent constant charging whilst the phone is full?

Check on battery protection, you can set your phone to stop charging at certain % even if you don't remove the charger. Also play around the routes app, you can set your phone to know when you want it to charger to 100% or not

Just to add, your phone stops charging at 100% it then switches to "trickle" charge where the voltage supplied to your battery is just enough to keep the 100% mark. All modern smartphones have this feature.

Set it to adaptive charging. This feature charges your phone to 80% and then stops. When you wake up, it completes the charging to 100%.
