Recently got the latest OneUI 6.0 with the Android 14. Loved it.! I have liked the one-handed accessible approach ever since it was launched.
However, after using the OneUI 6.0 for a couple of weeks, here's what I've found a bit annoying.
1. Quick Panel
I start with the new polished quick panel. Previously (before 6.0) I could access all the information with a single hand, As they have been organized they view only information on top and interactive information on the bottom.
- When the quick panel is expanded, I have to scroll up more than 2 times to get it just closed.
- The frequently used toggle buttons, like Bluetooth, and WiFi are placed at the top which is very inconvenient along with other button layouts.
- Now If I want to go to the settings, I have to reach the top with my other hand.

2. Bixby Routines.
I love Bixby Routines. It makes my automated tasks even easier to manage. It's like I can have many tasks that triggered with many rules or combined, like while watching movies, changing the Dolby to Movie, and turn on auto rotation etc.,
- So I have a routine called 'Movie time', it turns on several settings including auto-rotate whenever those apps are opened. (Prime Video, Netflix, Disney Hotstar, etc.,). If I quit the app, it revokes the changes, especially the auto-rotate option, the home screen will rotate 1 or 2 times before orienting to the previous setting. The glitch is kinda annoying.
3. Samsung Internet
My favorite go-to browser for my Samsung phones. The extensions, and added features are excellent! I noticed after updating to the latest version had some issues and difficulties. (Even in my old S10+)
- The personalized settings are not backed up in my Samsung account.
- Some extensions stopped working after the update. Tried, Clearing Cache, Clearing Data, Reinstalling both the browser and extensions. Nothing worked.
- In the tab, when switching using the swipe gesture, the browser page will display the previous page for sometime then it displays the current one.
4. Calls
In full view call screen, where the video plays when the call arrives.
- After attending the call, the call timer won't start for a while. This happens every now and then.
5. Adaptive Power Saving Mode
- When in adaptive power saving mode, If I override some of it's settings, it will automatically be turned off. I expect this is the actual behavior, but it's sometimes annoying.
6. Other Suggestions or Requests
- A built-in Data Speed Monitor will be useful to show in the status bar.
- When reading the Google Feeds screen, the Samsung Pay home shortcuts overlaps with it and accidentally opens up the Samsung Pay app.
- The Samsung Pay app is too slow, besides the animation.
- The WiFi discovery is very slow.
I'm a die hard fan of Samsung Eco System, the connectivity, seamlessness, elegant UI, everything. Kindly stick to your own ideas, because that's what makes the OneUI stands out.
