So I loaded up One UI 4.0 beta 3 on my S21 Ultra. Have noticed quite a substantial improvement in overall system stability as well as improved performance.  Can't wait to see the polished product

Apologies for the delay . No pop ups were received lol

I used Odin to load the German version which is considered the Global region copy. This is achievable without wiping your phone by using Home CSC instead of CSC.And I sideloaded every beta from XDA following a reboot on each update . I used the Frija tool to get the German global copy of One UI 3.1 ( DBT is region code) then I flashed it with Odin and used ADB sideload to load One UI 4.0 . All 3 betas are available on XDA with direct links

How's the battery life so far?
Galaxy S
Excellent. In betas 1 and 2 it was questionable without a doubt as Beta 2 had a system UI crashing bug which is no longer there. Have been using beta 3 the better part of a few days now. She's running beautifully. Memory usage is down drastically. Overall I look forward to what the public sees. The theme engine rework is amazing and dynamic to wallpapers on a full system scale. The multitask friendliness has improved. Will keep you posted as I go through each beta. The only cufrent issue I'm experiencing is when I try to screen record at 120hz Whatsapp scrambles my video

5G Stability appears to be more consistent and stable. However that may be my country ( South Africa as 5G tech is relatively new)

I'm liking what I'm seeing from this response, do you have the exynos or snapdragon version by the way? I don't want to assume because you're in SA because you could've imported. I ask because the one thing I want improved from 3.1 is battery life (exynos version at least), it's really quite bad on my side and I'm on WiFi 90% of the time

Hey bud I do have the exynos version which I did get from Vodacom Battery life I can say is better substantially . I wish I could give you a more extensive answer but from 85% to 22% screen on time was 12 hours. I use this phone a lot more than I care to admit . You will have big improvements. Definitely make the S21 Ultra feel more comfortable as a phone . In my opinion it is daily driver ready or one update away.

My battery life in correlation with my usage should give you an idea. I work with both my phone and PC.

I blame the inconsistency of my battery graph on eskom. I also prefer to fully charge then kill my phone entirely sometimes. Call me an old soul 😂

PS : I have the protect battery option onScreenshot_20211026-213402_Digital Wellbeing_13067.jpgScreenshot_20211026-213349_Device care_13066.jpg

Thank you so much for your response man, highly appreciate all the info I'm getting as I can now start to look forward to One Ui 4. I definitely can't wait for the battery protection option as I know charging to 100% constantly decreases battery health quite fast of which I'm guilty of because I want a full day battery 💀😂 so definitely an old soul too 😂 . Is that screen on time on a single full charge by the way?

Another issue I'd like to be resolved is the overheating issue, specially when using mobile data and also camera use. Any significant improvements in this regard?
Galaxy S
More or less.

The graph I also included so you could see when I attempted to charge my self.
My mobile data is on 24/7 as well as my wifi. Have not experienced overheating. Including Dual Sim Always On. I turn it off when we have electricity cuts just to save a little power

My camera as well have felt little to no warmth but I've always wrote that off as utilization as this phone's camera is state of the art so I'd understand the display heating up if I'm recording at 120fps.

I'd recommend leaving the 85% option on .

If you're looking to save battery you can adjust the display resolution to HD. If you find that acceptable that alone will adjust your battery usage. Could I ask you for a screen of your battery graph? I'd be able to have a look again and run a battery test with normal usage tomorrow

Truth be told the only time I've noticed any warmth or slowdown on 4.0 Beta 3 is when I run games on my phone. Overheating was in Beta 1 and 2. I think I myself submitted maybe 20 different system logs to them for it . Beta 3 I loaded around 96 hours ago. Have yet to feel any overheating.

The only current issue is 3rd party apps needing to include Android 12 support but even then very rarely will you catch an app not working. 1 (Incompatible)/100 (Compatible) Ratio. If you plan on jumping onto Beta register for the beta apps . Android Auto was overheating on Beta 1. I enrolled for the beta and updated it and my overheating had stopped still a few other beta 1 bugs surfaced

Rest assured Beta 3 is extremely stable. Have not had any crashes. The phone feels like a completely new phone between 3.1 and 4.0. You guys are gonna love it! Will be sure to update you but if you'd like to try the beta I posted a small quick run through for it. Being on the beta isn't too much of an issue ever since Beta 3. That XDA thread I linked above includes other users opinions on the beta as well if you're looking for 2nd/3rd opinions.

Beta 3 released a few days after Beta 2 so at least we know Samsung's on the ball. I'm expecting a Summer Release but South Africa might only see it on March hence me rolling the beta. The moment the global German stable copy is out I plan on wiping my cell again lol. I flatout refuse to use South African versions as they take half a year just to update it.

Other beta users feedbacks as well as install procedure if interested

Love to see it, seems to be some good improvements in the overheating department

I can understand a little warmness because these cameras are something else so I try not to complain about it too much

I honestly can't bring myself to reduce it to HD, it already took a lot for me to change from quad HD because I feel if I spend so much money on such an expensive phone I shouldn't have to turn off such features, I consume a lot of media on my phone so I always prefer the best quality. My graph is messed up for today (thank you Eskom) but I'll definitely try and get a full day on a single charge tomorrow and post the screenshot.

I'm not too worried on app support because I know eventually all apps should be supported. Wish I could try the beta but I just barely have the time so I'll rather wait until release in SA, it really **bleep** how long we have to wait for network providers to release updates 💔
