Not sure if it was a mere coincidence but today Jun 27, 2020 I received what could be the last major software update on my Galaxy S9+ 🥳 The date has relevance because I bought this phone on Jun 27, 2018! 😅 Exactly two years & the timing is uncanny when this had to happen... Just a little something I thought I'll share with the community. I hope Samsung will at least push security updates in the future if not major feature updates 🤞🏼

That's still acceptable I guess for a two year old flagship. Security updates are more important than features going forward.

We are still in monthly security patch but after this year we will get quarterly updates

If I am not wrong, it is calculated on the basis of launch date.

Not on the basis of launch year. It completed 2 years.

I think we are already on a quarterly basis, considering the last security update was in March.

See this, after march S9+ got update in june. You need to search properly.
