As of today, **May 6, 2026**, Samsung has officially begun the global rollout of **One UI 8.5**.
* **Key Features:** The update is heavily focused on "Galaxy AI" enhancements, specifically improving communication tools and creative workflows (like continuous editing in the Gallery and better "Create → Refine → Share" flows).
* **Security:** New "Theft Protection" features and a "Failed Authentication Lock" that triggers if too many incorrect PIN/Fingerprint attempts are made.
### **Eligible Devices**
The first wave of the official update includes:
* **Galaxy S25 Series** (including the Ultra)
* **Galaxy S24 Series**
* **Galaxy Z Fold7 & Z Flip7**
* **Galaxy Tab S11 Series**
Since I'm using the **S26 Ultra**, I likely already have the core features, but this "official" wave is bringing the stable build to the rest of the ecosystem.
