It depends upon the region of your device; CPID does not cause problems with updates, as I have an S22 and S23, and the CPID updated to the latest One UI 7. However, my S24 was not getting it due to a different region. I had to manually do it using Odin.

CPID does not get reversed, no matter what you do with your device; the IMEI is stuck to it at the hardware level.

You can update manually using Odin, but I would recommend getting it done from a professional if you are not familiar with this stuff.

No, brother, there is no risk in updating a CPID phone. It works the same as a normal one. The problem is that you have to choose the correct firmware for your device; that's the catch. The rest of the steps are pretty straightforward. You will find multiple guide videos on YouTube for this. I would still recommend getting it done from a professional as they do it on a daily basis.
