When i get a text on WhatsApp and it shows up on my lock screen/ notification pop up screen, and i swipe it out, it also disappears from the top of my app!!!
I want the red numbers to stay above the app so I can remember to return my messages - why is it being removed when I only wanted it temporarily off my notification screen??
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Galaxy SWe understand your concern regarding WhatsApp notifications on your Galaxy device. You mentioned that when you swipe away a WhatsApp message from the lock screen or notification pop‑up, the red badge counter above the app icon also disappears, making it difficult to track unread messages.
Please note the following:
- The badge counter (red numbers above the app icon) is directly linked to WhatsApp’s notification system. When a notification is dismissed, WhatsApp interprets it as “read,” which clears the badge count.
- This behavior is controlled by WhatsApp itself and may vary depending on the app version, device model, and software update.
- On some devices, newer versions of WhatsApp allow badge counts to remain even after swiping away notifications, while older versions may not.
To troubleshoot, please try the following:
- Ensure your device software and WhatsApp app are updated to the latest versions.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > App icon badges and confirm that badges are enabled for WhatsApp. - Within WhatsApp, check Settings > Notifications to see if badge behavior options are available.
- For further assistance and to arrange detailed troubleshooting if needed, kindly contact us directly through our WhatsApp support channel: https://wa.me/+971547267864. Our team will verify your device settings and guide you on the next steps.
We remain committed to ensuring you receive the support you expect from Samsung.
