Notifications number on the apps

after updating my S8 with android oreo 8.0 i am facing the number count for the notifications on any app is going when you dismiss the notification from the notification bar on the top ??? i need that number to remain to show that i have that much number of received items unattended.

that is not an error, but a feature that was added to oreo. i don't know why you want to keep your received items unattended

sorry to say that is not an added feature, for me that is an error, i have more than 450 unread emails while my phone now is showing me Zero, so what feature is that ?

yeah, i understand but why keep 450 unread mail, that means if you clear it from notification panel it was ignored right? it is a good feature for people who don't want to miss a single notifs and actually read important mails and not just grow tress by seeding 450 unread mails in their inbox

and dear i gave the email as example only i am facing the same with sms abd whatsapp, additionally i am not getting any notifications more for linkedin and facebook while when i open the app i find alot, and all notifications are enabled in phone settings and in the app settings also

that's true, maybe those beta testers didn't notice the importance of it and did not report to samsung or maybe they liked it. and worst case maybe the fandroids only prefer the smoothness and lag free OS of Oreo on their pixel phones that they don't care about it.
