I have very closely looked at the display of S24 Ultra and can cleary and 100 percent say that the display does not have any hardware or software issue.

Samsung has toned down the vibrancy of the display a lot even when vivid mode is selected and that is why people are saying dull and washed.

Apart from this 1 more reason is the anti reflective display.

Note : If you go into display settings and select 2nd picture and change between vivid and natural and look very closely you will see that the color is changing.

Try doing this when your phone is in dark mode and in a dark area.

Try on the below image and you will see the color of the table changing.

Yes, I have noticed this as well. However it was fun to see people un necessarily ranting about the issue 😜

However in my phone I am unable to switch between dark & light mode. No matter what I select, the device remains in dark mode only :(

That definately seems like some kind of software glitch.

Hmm.. not able to switch between dark and light mode is definitely a buy.

Restarting your device in safe mode.

Well, my apologies. I did a little bit of digging on my phone and found out that I had applied a high contrast theme which did not have light & dark mode compatibility. I changed my theme to system default theme and the light & dark mode feature is working.

This is a serious issue, meanwhile there are people who are acting it's normal when it clearly isn't, people with even bad vision can notice this, I don't understand why it isn't bothering you when the issue is so explicit

There is no issue. If you read the original post clearly and follow the steps you will know that the vivid & natural mode is working as it is expected to work. Only thing is that Samsung has tuned the vivid mode to become more subtle & eye comforting then what it was in previous devices.

My eyes can catch more minute details & differences.

Why don't you try to just use your device without much of cribbing & they will get used to the new tuning that Samsung has done which is much more comfortable for humen eyes ;)

Why don't you shut up if you're okay using a $1300 faulty phone

It's not a falty phone my friend. There is no hardware issue with the S24 line up. All new phones come with new software & new tuning in camera, display & other aspects.

Even apple devices come with their own quirks after launch & companies release software updates to fix them.

Why don't you sell of the device and buy S23 or S22 it is still available in the market 😜.

Ranting out illogically without understanding the technicals is not the correct way to go about seeking a resolution

I don't agree that there is no issue.. If people want toned down display choose natural mode but don't make people compromise by not giving the Vivid mode for how it has always meant to be.. Or disclose that upfront so people can make educated decision before purchasing than realising post purchase
