Galaxy SThank you for contacting us and sharing your concern.
How to Manually Lock the Secure Folder Immediately
Since the automatic “lock each time I leave an app” option has been removed in One UI 8.0 / Android 16, you can manually lock the Secure Folder as follows:
-
Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Panel (notification area).
-
Tap the Secure Folder icon to lock it instantly before switching to other apps or putting your phone down.
-
Tapping the icon again will prompt for your authentication (PIN, pattern, or fingerprint) to unlock it.
Note: The removed auto-lock option has frustrated many users who relied on immediate privacy. Currently, the available auto-lock options are:
-
When the screen turns off
-
After 5, 10, or 30 minutes of inactivity
-
When the phone restarts
