How to Manually Lock the Secure Folder Immediately
Since the automatic “lock each time I leave an app” option has been removed in One UI 8.0 / Android 16, you can manually lock the Secure Folder as follows:

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Panel (notification area).

  2. Tap the Secure Folder icon to lock it instantly before switching to other apps or putting your phone down.

  3. Tapping the icon again will prompt for your authentication (PIN, pattern, or fingerprint) to unlock it.

Note: The removed auto-lock option has frustrated many users who relied on immediate privacy. Currently, the available auto-lock options are:

  • When the screen turns off

  • After 5, 10, or 30 minutes of inactivity

  • When the phone restarts
