Is there any way to get the network speed indicated in the status bar through settings/Goodlock?

No,there is no official way to indicate internet speed on the status bar.

You can use speed meter by 3rd party app to getting information about network speed.

No bro.. No such feature not available in samsung till now. Let's see in one ui 4.0 should be there.

You can download 3rd party app from play store,

To get it in future updates, provide feedback to samsung to include it in future major os updates.
