Hello,
My phone was working normally, but after a recent system update it suddenly stopped working with my SIM card and now appears to be locked / not accepting any network.
I did not change anything manually, and the issue started immediately after the update.
I am currently outside the US and need help checking why the phone became locked and how to fix it or unlock it.
Thank you.

Clear cache of Samsung apps, members including remove data. Then restart your phone. You may need to re login. I was facing this issue now it got fixed with this approach.

Thank you for contacting Samsung Gulf Electronics.

We understand that your device stopped recognizing the SIM card after the recent software update and is showing a network lock or error 136 issue.

Kindly try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart the device.
  2. Remove and reinsert the SIM card.
  3. Reset network settings through:
Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings
  4. Ensure the device software is fully updated.
  5. Test another SIM card if available.

Please note that some US models may have carrier lock restrictions depending on the original carrier policy, especially when used outside the US region.

If the issue still persists after performing the above steps, kindly visit the nearest authorized service center for device inspection and network verification.
