I have a magnetic car mount and it seems the cellular/mobile location service is affected by the magnetic mount. No issues with GPS until GPS signal is lost. Anyone else seeing this issue?

For sure magnets can interfere with the magnetic sensors of mobile devices. Any mangnetic mount can mess with navigation if mounted near the magnetic sensor.

thanks. I moved the magnet a bit away from the antenna and more towards the bottom but not too close to the bottom because that would interfere with speaker. Hopefully less interference. I'll update if its successful.

moved magnet lower but it made it worse. seems the compass on the device is very susceptible to magnetic interference. wife's iPhone 6 doesn't have this problem. ☹

Hi there,

Magnet or metals may affect the S-Pay or NFC but for GPS. Please feel free to visit the nearest certified customer service center to get the device checked out.

it does not affect GPS. it affects the compass which disrupts Google maps and Waze. Without the magnet mount the device shows 40 to 50 micro Tesla and bringing a magnet within 6 cm the measurement goes to 80 to 100 micro Tesla. Moving the magnet mount nearer to the camera will cause a compass recalibration event.

I've recently encountered a problem with Google maps because I used magnetic cable. This is different than a magnetic mount but it did cause google maps to lose the location constantly while driving using AA. I would highly recommend not to have any magnets near the phone while navigating.
