Hi,

I am trying to seek information about locating a device that appears under an active Samsung account but location not found as it might be turned off or  there could be any other possible reason that I may not know of. Now, how can I resolve this issue or  what do i need to do to retrieve or gain access on the details of the current or last location of the device at the least using the personal account and device information that I have.

Please note that there is no active SIM installed in the device hence no number to locate and has find my phone turned on in settings.

Note: Device is still appearing under an active Samsung account  but  when it is clicked on it  reads "no location found".

To be helpful I can provide the details on the device specifications including its EMEI code or the account it is registered with for you to enhance your search and response on the topic  for the device, as there must be a possible way for Samsung using tools Find My Phone.

Its an urgent query request I hope for a positive response at the earliest possible.

Best Regards

Hi Nahida, 😊

If the device is still listed in your Samsung account but shows “No location found,” it usually means Samsung can see that the device is registered to the account, but it cannot get a live location from it at the moment. This normally happens when the phone is powered off, out of battery, not connected to Wi-Fi/mobile data, or offline finding / send last location was not enabled before it went missing. A SIM card is not required for Samsung Find to work, but the device still needs some form of connectivity, or it must have had offline finding enabled in advance.

Please try the following:
-Sign in to Samsung Find / SmartThings Find using the same Samsung account linked to the lost device and check whether options such as Track location, Ring, Lock, or Erase data are available.

- Samsung states these services are handled through Samsung Find / SmartThings Find.

- Keep checking periodically. If the phone turns on and connects to Wi-Fi or mobile data again, its location may update. Samsung also notes that location and remote actions require the device to be connected to the internet.

- If Offline finding had been enabled before the device was lost, nearby Galaxy devices may help detect it even when it is not actively connected in the normal way.

- For security, use the available remote protection options such as Lock or Erase if you believe the device is stolen or you cannot recover it safely. Samsung advises contacting the authorities rather than going directly to a suspicious location yourself.

Also, for your safety, do not post your IMEI number or Samsung account details publicly in the forum.

If the device never updates, then unfortunately Samsung cannot provide a current or last location unless the phone had already sent one before going offline. In that case, the best next step is to contact Samsung Support in your country and provide the device model and proof of ownership for further guidance.

Thank you for contacting Samsung Gulf Electronics.

We understand your concern regarding a lost device showing in your Samsung account with “No location found.”

Please note that when a device displays this status in Samsung Find / SmartThings Find, it means the device is still linked to your Samsung account, but it is currently unable to provide a live location. This typically happens when:
• The device is powered off or has no battery
• The device is not connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data
• Location services or “Send last location” were not active before it went offline
Kindly note that a SIM card is not required for tracking; however, the device must have internet connectivity or previously enabled offline finding for location updates to be available.

You may try the following:
• Sign in to Samsung Find / SmartThings Find using your Samsung account
• Check available actions such as Ring, Lock, or Erase data
• Continue checking periodically, as the location may update once the device reconnects to a network
• If Offline Finding was enabled, nearby Galaxy devices may help detect its location
For your safety and data protection, we strongly advise using the available remote options such as Lock or Erase Data if the device is not recoverable.

Please note that Samsung cannot retrieve real-time or historical location data if the device has not previously transmitted it while online.
