Issue with updating my s22

I have been unable to update my samsung s22 from the settings everytime I go to update my phone I get the error "service unavailable". I have had this issue for the past year I used to update the phone via smart switch using my PC but that does not work anymore. My phone is registered with Verizon.

Is your phone patched or some kind of approved ? If yes, then it is obvious to have such an error. If your phone is official and locally purchased, pta approved without patch or tempering software, then you should be worried.

It is patched but my friend has S21 which is also patched but he is getting all the updates. The last security patch I got was in November of last year.

You can't complain or claim when the phone is not normal. The Cpid server patch approving process is tempering the software at a low level, hence creating such problems.

You can say your friend is lucky till he's getting updates by chance.
