Galaxy S
Hi everyone, I had an issue with my previous Samsung Galaxy internal space always complaining that it was full even though I deleted all media and files and cleared recycle bin but it kept on complaining that it was full. When I click on manage storage it shows that 70% of my total storage is used by "other files" what is this other files because I'm unable to click it.
I ended up buying a new Galaxy device and guess what, I'm back to having the same issue. I tried applying the same fixes that I applied on my previous Galaxy with no luck, "other files" still being the main culprit using over 70% of my internal storage.
Can anyone advise what could be filling up my devices because I deleted all media and the applications that are there don't take a lot of space. I suspect hidden files even though I have changed settings to show hidden files the problem continues. As a loyal Samsung fan, this is very frustrating and I've started to lose hope and considering jumping ship. Has anyone come accross the same issue and can advise?

Hey, I’ve faced a similar issue before. Most of the time, 'Other files' include app cache, leftover data from uninstalled apps, system logs, and downloads. Try going to 'My Files' > Internal Storage > tap the 3 dots > Analyze storage sometimes that helps break it down better. Also, clear app caches from Settings > Apps > individual apps. If it still doesn’t help, using Samsung Storage Booster or Files by Google to clean junk can work wonders. Hope this helps!

I'm able to click on everything on the list to see exactly what's using up the space except for System & Other files. Could TikTok & Whatsapp possibly also be the culprits here, maybe hidden malfunctioning log files that keep on pilling up or a database of one of the apps that's not working the way it's supposed to in the background?

Most of the time ‘Other files’ are hidden app data, cache, or old backups taking up space. You can check in My Files > Android > Data/OBB or even WhatsApp databases, those usually eat up a lot. If it still doesn’t clear, try wiping cache partition or as a last option, factory reset
