Wait for atleast a week. By then everyone who were restless to install the update will have installed the update. Also, we can get YouTube reviews about the update. Then we will get an idea about whether the update is good or not. This is what I recommend to everyone who want to be 100 percent sure about their data.

Nb: Personally, I will update only after a month or 2 after a major update is released.

If this is stable Android 13 you can go ahead and install. The company might have done enough of testing before the release. In my experience with galaxy devices i have never had issues after software updates. And even if there are, they are resolved with another update.
And i don't think you need to factory reset your device after update. I have never done that.
I have been using galaxy devices since 6-7 years.

Ah, tell that to S20 plus users(10 thousand plus) who have had a display failure after the update and tens of thousands of Exynos 9611 users who have had a motherboard failure after updates.

Nb: Before arguing that it's not true or that a software update cannot cause these issues, just google about the s20plus display green line issue. After about 6 months of struggles of thousands of users through social media protests and consumer court cases, Samsung finally acknowledged the issue and is giving a free display replacement (with stringent/impractical conditions) to "all" affected till December this year. But unfortunately, even after the Android 13 update some of the s20 plus users are facing this same issue again.

So, I won't recommend updating straight away.

For the last 2 days, there are reports about note 20 ultra users and s9 users also having display issues after the update (not so rampant as s20 plus though).

Again I am not saying that ALL s20 plus users have faced or will face this issue, but an unacceptably high number of users have faced and are still facing this.

Agreed.. And to be honest this display issue is inhibiting since the note 8 days i believe. I was owning Note 8 so i was following everything related to it. Lot of users complaint greening of screens. I also faced that after 2.5 years of usage. Similarly one of my colleague having galaxy note 9 also faced this issue after 2 years of usage and he had to get it replaced. I have been seeing that s20+ users are also facing this issue. Not seen similar kind of issues in other OEM devices. Amoled is Samsung's but Samsung is the one unreliable in this aspect.
And i don't think it's an update issue. If they are having to replace the screen it's the hardware issue. Anyways it still is personal choice.

Yes and I'm aware of all the issues which other OEMs also have😉 That's why i said Samsung is still better than the rest of the Android OEMs.

I don't think Samsung is better than Pixel phones, except for the one extra year of update. The Goodlock modifications and the convenience are the things which holds me from jumping the ship.

Pixel 7 and 7 Pro have just launched. And yes they are at par with S22 series and much better than "rest of the OEMs" Last time a Google device i liked and think were worthy contenders of one of the best devices were Nexus 4 and Nexus 6P. I did own them. But after that all the pixel devices were a bummer really.

Productivity wise also i feel few offerings from samsung are better. To name a few are it's Note, Reminder, Bixby routines (which Google is also introducing in pixels now), Keyboard.
Samsung Pay was one feature i utilised a lot. I never carried my cards and was paying with my phone with ease. I don't know whether it is part of new devices or not. I heard that they are not supporting magnetic stripe payment in Samsung Pay now.
