  1. Why did Samsung choose to build an open, carrier-dependent solution (RCS via Samsung Messages) instead of a proprietary, fully-controlled, and instantly encrypted system like Apple's iMessage?

Habibi .. thats a very weird question to ask .. comparing imessage to something else ... you got google messages which works on any android device .. and RCS so both platforms can communicate to each other ... iMessage is a thing only in the US .. other parts of the world uses WhatsApp 99% of the time

Thank you for your question.

Samsung adopts an open ecosystem approach by supporting RCS through Samsung Messages, which allows enhanced messaging features across different Android devices and carriers, rather than limiting communication to a single brand. This ensures broader compatibility and user flexibility. Feature availability, including encryption, may vary based on carrier support and regional policies.

We appreciate your interest in Samsung’s messaging approach.
