If you’ve just picked up a Galaxy device, mastering theLock Screen and Always On Display (AOD) is the best way to make your phone feel like yours.

Here is a quick beginner’s guide to finding and fixing these settings.

1. Finding the Settings Menu
Everything starts in the same place. To get there:
 ● Open your Settings app (the gear icon).
 ● Scroll down and tap Lock screen and AOD.

2. Managing the "Always On Display" (AOD)
The AOD lets you see the time, date, and notifications even when your screen is "off."
 ● How to turn it on: Tap the toggle next to Always On Display.
 ● When to show it: Tap the text "Always On Display" to choose your style:
 ● Tap to show: The screen stays black until you tap it once (saves battery!).
 ● Always show: It’s always there, like a desk clock.
 ● Scheduled: Only stays on during specific hours (e.g., 8 AM to 10 PM).
 ● Customization: You can change the clock style, colors, and even add a tiny image or sticker.

3. Customizing the Lock Screen
This is the screen you see right before you unlock your phone. Samsung makes it very easy to edit visually:
 ● The Shortcut Method: While your phone is locked, light up the screen and long-press (hold your finger down) on any empty space. After you enter your PIN/Fingerprint, you’ll enter "Edit Mode."

 What you can change:
 ● Clock: Tap the clock to change the font and size.
 ● Wallpapers: Tap "Wallpapers" in the top left to pick new photos.
 ● Shortcuts: Change the two icons at the bottom (usually Phone and Camera) to apps you use more often, like Flashlight or Calculator.
 ● Widgets: Tap the area below the clock to add useful info like the weather or your upcoming calendar events.

4. Security Check
While you're playing with the look, make sure your "Lock screen type" is set to something secure.
 ● Best Practice: Use Fingerprints or Face Recognition combined with a PIN for the best balance of speed and safety.

Pro Tip: If you want your Lock Screen to change every time you wake up your phone, look for the Wallpaper Services option and select Dynamic Lock Screen. It will rotate through beautiful high-res photos automatically!
