External Storage consumed ~29% battery with almost no screen usage and 10+ hours background time.
No file transfers or backups were running.

Is this a known issue? Any fix

Thank you for contacting us.

Regarding the high battery usage shown under External Storage, this usually indicates that the system is repeatedly scanning, indexing, or trying to access data on internal or removable storage. This can happen after a system update, file corruption, or when an app is constantly accessing storage in the background.

Please try the following steps:

  1. Restart the device to stop any stuck background storage process.
  2. If you are using an SD card, remove it, restart the phone, and check if the battery usage returns to normal.
  3. Go to settings > battery and device care > battery > usage and check which apps are accessing storage frequently.
  4. Open settings > apps > show system apps, find Media Storage or External Storage, then clear cache.
  5. Make sure your device software is updated to the latest version.
  6. If the battery drain continues after these steps, it indicates a system or storage related issue that requires further checking.
