My galaxy S23 (SM-911B, Australian, XSA) had been rooted for a long time.
Recently I did a clean flash of the stock firmware using ODIN. Now it's running as a unrooted device and no problem has been noticed, until I tried to update software.
It says that my phone's operating system has been modified in an unauthorized way. It also suggested me to try updating using smart switch on my computer.
When tried that, it seems that smart switch is downloading the whole 13gigs of firmware and would update the system as like Odin does, in this process my stored data would've been lost/erased, so I cancelled the process.

My question is, when I asked the forum, if I could get OTA updates in rooted device without unrooting, some said that I should unroot it to get OTA updates. Some XDA posts also suggested this. But even after unrooting freshly, I couldn't get OTA update.
Please help me in this regard, or atleast suggest me something.
Thanks in advance.

May be the bootloader is still unlocked.
If I flash the device again, and this time if I relock the bootloader following the required steps, then, is there any possibility that I get OTA updates?

Once you unlock the bootloader it basically trips knox, and once knox is tripped no matter how hard you try to relock it's not gonna work with software, knox is a very secure environment once you blown the fuse there's no turning back. Maybe there's possibility or maybe not, if you're a hardware expert and knows about knox security IC or modem if you can replace them with the same model of locked knox then it might function again, worth try?,but the best fix is get a new motherboard from samsung service center but it's gonna cost you.

During flashing don't check on userdata partition, otherwise it'll wipe all stored data. Unchecking userdata partition will remain your phone storage as usual. Enjoy20250117_105459_1000237632_1737091499.jpg
